VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Region VI Membership & Volunteer Committee welcomes volunteers to participate in regional activities to support their colleagues by furthering the goals and the values of the organization. Volunteering at the regional level provides opportunities to interact with colleagues, share expertise, engage with leaders, and develop professionally.
Region VI members can participate in regional activities through a mix of advisory and hands-on work. Opportunities include:
Support for the Annual and Regional Meetings - Volunteers plan and coordinate non-programmatic meeting activities, prepare material and provide staffing for the regional meeting welcome/registration desks and other behind-the-scenes roles. Volunteer members create marketing and outreach materials for membership and recruitment, and events and activities. Opportunities that do not require attendance at the respective meeting are available.
Members who have knowledge in specific subject areas are encouraged to volunteer and share their expertise through serving as presenters and discussion facilitators for the yearly regional meeting. The yearly call for proposals for the Regional Meeting is the perfect opportunity to submit a proposal for a presentation or discussion session. Not quite ready to submit a proposal on your own? Let us know – we can help identify a presentation/discussion partner.
Members can also get involved by serving on a standing committees and other leadership roles that provide additional opportunities to network with colleagues and support the Region.
Members who are interested in getting involved in Region VI are encouraged to contact Mich Pane, Chair of the Membership & Volunteer Committee, at michiko@stanford.edu.
