Call For Applications for Region VI 2026 Travel Awards | Application Deadline: June 8, 2026

Overview

Travel Awards support travel-related costs for Research Administrators from Region VI to attend the NCURA Annual Meeting, which will be held in New York City for the first time in 2026. The awards are intended to help support the attendance of research administrators who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial barriers.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for a Region VI Travel Award if:

  • You are a Research Administrator from within the Region VI geographic area (Alaska, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Northern Marianas Islands, Oregon, Samoa, and Washington).

  • Your application describes the potential benefit of the award.

  • You submit a complete application packet, including required documentation.

  • You need not be a current member of NCURA to apply for or be awarded a Region VI Travel Award.

  • Applications must be completed and submitted within the submission period of the Call for Applications.​


Award Terms

The Travel Award is intended to help defray the cost of attendance at an NCURA meeting. After the meeting has occurred, awardees will receive funds to reimburse a portion of the travel costs (flight, hotel and/or local transportation), up to $2,000 for the Annual Meeting. Note: registration is not an eligible expense. A maximum of two (2) awards are anticipated.


Applicants agree that if they are unable to attend the meeting, Awards may not be transferred.


Applicants agree to participate as an event volunteer at the meeting, in whatever capacity they are able.


Applicants agree to submit receipts for verification of travel expenses to the Award and Recognition Committee and NCURA Region VI Chair and Treasurer within thirty (30) days of the meeting.


Applicants acknowledge and agree that Awards may not be paid unless volunteering is documented and travel receipts are submitted. Eligible costs for reimbursement include lodging, airfare and local transportation.

Applicants acknowledge and agree that as an Award recipient, they may be acknowledged formally at the selected meeting and/or on NCURA websites or social media channels.


Application Deadlines

To be considered for a Region VI Travel Award to the 2026 Annual Meeting, completed applications (including all required documents) must be submitted via email to Krista Roznovsky at kmsroz@stanford.edu by June 8, 2026.


Application Checklist

Completed applications should be submitted as single PDF packet including the following documents:


☐ Resume: no more than two pages

☐ Approval Letter: from applicant's manager to approve travel/additional funds.  See suggested template @ https://www.ncuraregionvi.org/travelawards
