Reflective of NCURA's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement, NCURA Region VI is committed to achieving diversity in appointments, including but not limited to gender, ethnicity, experience, geographic area, and institutional type. We encourage ALL interested members to exercise their volunteering spirit and become involved in NCURA.
Region VI seeks a Committee Chair and up to 5 additional committee members to serve on the region’s first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee. This committee is anticipated to be ad hoc, for 12-24 months, with a charge to identify regional needs and gaps in modeling and implementing inclusivity throughout all regional activities following the guidance provided by NCURA’s National Select Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Regional leadership expects that DEI will at minimum impact our professional development offerings, educational opportunities, membership and volunteer recruitment, and awards.
Once a standing mission for regional DEI is established, regional leadership expects the ad hoc committee would transition to a standing committee. This committee will collaborate with other Region VI committees to ensure all regional activities and outreach is as far reaching and engaging across our membership population as possible.
Typical regional committee appointments are for 2 years with possible extension by the current regional Chair if both parties are amenable to continuing. If you wish to be considered to chair the ad hoc DEI committee or as a DEI committee member, please submit a statement of interest via email at officers@ncuraregionvi.org. While previous experience is not necessary, if you have experience supporting DEI initiatives please include a brief summary describing your involvement.
