RM2020 Going Virtual | November 17-19, 2020

Updated: Sep 17, 2020

Hello Region VI and VII,

As we continue to be impacted by COVID-19, the Chairs and Chairs-Elect of Region VI and VII have been working toward a pathway to ensure we continue to offer professional development opportunities to our members, especially the regional meeting for 2020.

After numerous conversations, we are happy to announce that we were able to negotiate with JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona to move the in-person meeting from October 26-28, 2020 to October 31-November 2, 2022. They have agreed that our deposit would carryover to 2022 and we would not be accessed a cancellation fee for delaying the in-person meeting.

With that completed, we can now announce the Regional Meeting for 2020 (RM2020) will be completely virtual and will be held November 17-19, 2020. Your program committee will be planning sessions to have minimal impact on your workday, while providing educational opportunities relevant to our field and today’s environment.

The pricing for RM2020 is still being determined but be assured that we are trying to keep it as low and cost effective as possible. We are well aware that most institutions are facing financial hardships and have implemented a freeze on travel and even limited funds to professional development in order to protect the overall budgets. As soon as we are able, we will announce registration costs.

REGIONAL MEETING 2020: A VIRTUAL MEETING

We are reopening our Call for Proposals and Call for Presenters now that the determination for RM2020 is fully online. If you have not already submitted your proposal ideas or have provided your name as a presenter, please do so!

Thank you to all who have volunteered and provided feedback. We could not be here without you.

We look forward to seeing you (online) in November!

Vanessa Quiroz Hotz, Chair of Region VI

Ashley Stahle, Chair of Region VII
